Andrew Jacques – National Operations Director
Andrew is responsible for operations through out Australia. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree – Computing from Queensland University of Technology. Andrew has over 25 years’ experience working in Information Technology, for companies in Australia, Switzerland, France and the USA.
Andrew has a wealth of experience in a vast range of industries from Finance and Banking, Insurance, Tourism and Travel systems and Manufacturing.
In 1989, after completing his degree, Andrew started working for the Suncorp Building Society then branching out to the Finance and Insurance arms of Suncorp.
In 1995 Andrew was offered a development job in Zurich, Switzerland where he developed one of the first Microsoft Windows travel reservation systems. This was a very dynamic development as the travel industry requirements were evolving rapidly. The system was eventually bought out by one of Germany’s biggest Tour operators, Imholz.
Andrew’s last employment in Switzerland was for a Medical manufacturing company where he was the Senior Developer for their ERP system, which managed over a million transactions a day. Andrew was responsible for all development and analysis of the system as well as team of five full time developers and two Business Analysts. The system was critical to the company being awarded new contracts from medical giant Roche worth over $100 million. This was brought about due to the design of a quality control system, which passed the stringent requirements of the FTA as well as the state of the art database and monitoring software developed by his team.
Andrew returned to Australia after working in Switzerland for over 8 years. He still supported the Swiss medical manufacturing company remotely from Australia for over 10 years. The improvement of internet speeds and a few trips a year to Switzerland for face to face meetings made this remote support possible.
Andrew has developed systems for companies with specialised requirements varying from Windows based programs, Websites, Web Applications, and Mobile Apps. His experience over the years working on various projects within the financial sector, gave Andrew an outstanding advantage when it came time to assist Sean with the development of Finview.
Andrew is a very active member of his local community. He is the treasurer and active fire fighter for his local Rural Fire Brigade and also donates a few hours a week to local schools in his region, supporting them with their IT needs.
